happy new year everyone!!!

hey haha finally the lunar new year is here! finally can take a break from all the work and stress. time also to get some angpaos and get some much needed money to last me through till i get my pay.

we had already visited all my relatives yesterday or rather i had collected the angpaos from most, if not all of my relatives already. so i'll be stoning at home all day today, watching tv or playing game unless anyone asks me out.

ok 1st i tink i'll update on my work. last friday i was like standing for almost the whole day, from 10am to 5pm. only had a chance to rest for a while during lunchtime. i was doing stocktaking for our company's minimart. hahaha come to tink of it, really quite funny man. admin job then need to do stocktaking also. wooo this job really has a wide range of things to be done. tat proves tat the company's name isn't really for show only. we are really MULTI-PURPOSE!!! then i dun tink anybody had really been doing the stocktaking for ages already cos the difference in numbers was really great and some of the stuff look like they haven't been touched in ages already. so i felt quite stupid to be really counting the stuff. so i din manage to complete the stocktake and so we told the auntie not to add anymore stuff onto the shelves and i was to complete the stocktaking after new year.

and as if my work isn't enuf already, it seems like a "revolution" of some sort is happening and someone wants almost everything here and there to be changed. so it means more work for me again. haizzzzz...

ok lah enuf abt work already. on to happier stuff. ok yesterday i got quite a lot of angpaos and dun tink i missed out on a lot of them like previous years. and also the amount of money in them seems to have increased. proof tat the economy is getting better maybe? then also saw a lot of my relatives tat i had not seen for 2 years already becos i went to bangkok with my family during the last lunar new year. wow quite scary also cos most of my cousins like all become so old already. then the younger ones all become so tall already.

but then while chatting with them, the discussion abt the field of study tat i want to go into pops up again. and i was again in doubt as to whether the decision tat i had made to go back into IT was right. but i guess i need to find tat out myself and try it out myself before really noeing whether it's right or wrong.

3rd day liao...

hey haha, my 3rd day at work already and lunch just keeps getting better. from tasteless fried rice, to rice with at least some taste and today i went to a chinese restaurant for lunch. it's becos the girl tat was doing my job is having her last day at work today so there was sort of a farewell lunch for her. haha so free lunch at chinese restaurant for me on the 3rd day of work. but the food not really nice also. and also another good thing is we ate all the way from 12.30pm to 2.30pm when our original lunchtime was only 45 min. but could this just be the calm before the storm?

finally the weekend!!!

haha wah haven't been looking forward to the weekend so much for sooo very long already. during the nuaing period, the weekends were almost the same as the weekdays.

but ok lah, today work seems to be better. still trying to learn lots of things and my nua brain is slowly working its way back to full fitness. then lunch was relatively better today too. at least the mutton tasted like mutton and vege tasted like vege and the rice still tasted like plain rice but at least tat's wat i ordered.

during lunch, this pa system will start to play some music (think army). and wat i heard today were some oldies like "yesterday once more" and also some classical music.

but then just after lunch, there was a power cut and the whole office was dark and stuffy and i was fighting a losing battle to stay awake. ok but after the tried and tested method of staying awake, army style, tat is drinking lots and lots of water, it was easier to keep awake already. but also going to the toilet more often and talking abt the toilet, it was sort of a private toilet tat only pple in our office can use. it's locked up and so everytime u go to the toilet u need to bring the key along. so i believe one day i might just bring the key home and whoever tat's left in the office might have to tink of other ways to relieve him/herself.

ermmm but ok lah today's work still quite relaxing but i feel tat all hell will break loose come next week...

1st day at work...

hey finally i started my 1st job after ording soooo long ago in september 2005. an admin job courtesy of my sis. not really a good beginning for me as i had to report for work quite early today which means i had to wake up at 5.30am. not since ording have i need to wake up so early except maybe to watch the champions league.

haizzzz i had not expected this but seems like the situation with the buses has not changed since my sec sch years as i waited for ard 10 min at the busstop for the 1st bus to arrive but it was so full tat i couldn't board it. the 2nd one was just behind it but it was just the same. then i waited for another 5 min and again 2 buses came at the same time. then the one in front was almost full too. luckily i managed to squeeze into the next one. but i was already running late and my sis' fren was waiting for me at boon lay interchange to bring me to the company.

die liao!! late on the 1st day of work... but luckily my sis' fren was not really angry with me or at least she did not show it. ok we arrived at the company and everywhere i go, there were all these guys in blue coveralls. seems like going back to army camp, only the colour is different. ok then i was orientated to the surroundings and was introduced to lots of pple. from the canteen pple, the minimart uncle and auntie, the cleaner, this guy tat was in charged of the gym, the security guard, etc, etc and i dun tink i remember any names now.

ok next up was the work tat i was supposed to be doing. ermmm btw the company name is "something" "something" then MULTI-PURPOSE then "something" "something". can't really remember liao.... ehhhh maybe tat's giving me a clue on wat i'm supposed to be while doing this job.... ok then this girl starts teaching me abt the work tat i was supposed to be doing. i kept taking notes while she just kept explaining abt the work. ehhh maybe my brain really nua too long liao but like quite difficult to remember all the steps and procedures. or maybe i just have a short term memory.

ok then after all the explanation, i was assigned to some tasks and shld i say i'm too suaku liao but seems weird to put it tat way too cos it was the 1st time tat i will be using the typewriter to do some serious work. the only other time tat i sort of "used" the typewriter was playing with it when i was a kid. so i actually had some difficulty using it. but it's really quite troublesome to use it or maybe it's just tat particular one. maybe there are better models or it's just tat i'm a suaku. but makes me appreciate my keyboard, my pc and microsoft word more. ok and talking abt pc, i wasn't given any to use yet. but tink i'll only get to use one when the girl tat i'm supposed to take over leaves and i'll be taking over almost everything and tat includes all the workload. hope tat the pc has an internet connection...

ok and figuring how to use the typewriter correctly seems like a good way to pass the time and soon it was lunchtime already. lunch was this $3 plain rice tat looks incredibly like fried rice. hey but wait, it's actually fried rice! tat's wat the auntie told me it was. only thing is tat it doesn't taste like it at all! ermmm but ok, at least i got a glass of free sugarcane juice. ermmm but not really sure y the uncle din collect the money from me when he brought over the drink. maybe it's their custom to give all newcomers a free drink?

ok then after lunch was again hearing pple explaining and teaching me things and i felt tat my brain was reaching its maximum capacity already. oh no wat a small brain i have... and then finally, the much awaited moment.... time to go home! ok then time to rest my brain and get ready for more inputs tmr...

i was actually tinking of updating this blog only after i have found a job. ermmmm but not really sure when it will be. maybe i'm just too choosy abt it... but somehow i just feel like updating abt some recent happenings tonite... ok so here goes...

ok just back from the 2a gathering and really nice to meet up with my sec sch classmates. this year is supposed to be our 10th year anniversary already. tat means we 1st knew one another 10 years ago. wow really long ago liao. haizzz tat means i really old liao. ok we went to some steamboat restaurant near bugis junction for dinner. ermmm can't really say the food is nice but acceptable lah. but after eating for quite sometime i was being suffocated by the smoke already and then feeling quite sian abt it. but alrite lah. guess tat's something u always get with steamboats and then actually not really tat bad also. ok then after tat we went to some cafe for some drinks and to tok cock and play games.

i ordered this tea tat has this nice name: "no worries tea". wow after such a long period of time worrying abt this and tat, maybe this tea will really make me forget abt all my worries. how wrong i was! i dunno if i'm just unlucky or maybe i just dunno how to appreciate the taste of teas. becos for the 2nd time already, i ordered some tea tat tastes quite sucky... tat time at essential brews it was this earl grey. and it was the recommended drink too! ermmm but ok, everything else besides the tea that i ordered was fine i guess. quite a nice place to chill out with frens.

ok and on thursday, i went for a interview at HP and i guess it can be considered my 1st formal interview. i had attended an interview at the job agency the day before and it was quite surprising for me as i was required to take a test. it tested me on some email writing skills and also on my IT knowledge and some new technologies. i tink i fared quite badly in tat test and it was like some sort of wake-up call for me and i guess i really need to be revising my poly sch work and also to read up on the new technologies in IT. and i'm starting it off by exploring some MS office functions tat (i'm quite ashamed to admit) i din noe abt.

haizzzz but i desperately need a job now. this week for the 1st time since i got enlisted (and tat was in ard 2 years i guess), i needed to ask for money from my mum and it's really not a nice situation to be in. well, i guess i have only myself to blame for this, for taking such a long time to sort out wat i wanna do and taking so long to find a job. really hope tat this won't last long. and also this ccna certification course. hope tat it starts soon. quite unbelievable tat i was the only one tat had signed up for the course. hope tat i can complete the course soon and maybe the cert will be an added advantage in finding a job.
