Bangkok day 2 - night

Ehhh feeling quite stupid now as i had assumed tat i could still catch the river ride to chinatown. But when i enquired with the hotel reception just now, they told me tat the last boat had already left at 6.30pm. Was contemplating on whether to go there on friday instead as i havent really plan wat to do on tat day. But decided to cab there today cos if not i also dunno where else to go.

So off i went to chinatown in the cab. There was a bit of traffic jam and the journey took ard 1/2 hour. Reached there at ard 8pm and the roads were still quite busy with cars and pple. Decided tat i'll just have dinner, buy some stuff from 林真香 and i'll head back to rest already.

Decided to have my dinner at this stall which seemed quite popular. As i waited for my food to be served, i was searching online for recommended stuff to eat here in chinatown and realised tat the stall i'm sitting at is called Lek & Rut. Ordered a coconut juice, baked prawns and deep fried fish in sweet chilli sauce. Of cos i also ordered one of the must-eats here in chinatown - shark's fins. Struggled but managed to finish almost everything (just a bit of the fish left).

Decided to walk around a bit to at least digest a bit of my very heavy dinner and also to buy some tidbits from 林真香, before i have my 2nd round of must-eats in chinatown - bird's nest.

Bought 2 packets of tidbits from 林真香 to give to 2nd uncle or if they dun want then i tink i'll just eat them myself. Then finally i'm off in search of the location for my final mission of this short chinatown trip. Decided on this 东方燕窝大王 as the price for all the stalls seems to be the same. This stall had a big and bright 招牌， looked clean and had air con. Ordered the cheapest bird's nest at 100 baht and it came with honey, an egg, some gingko nuts and a cup of tea. Was told by the staff to put everything (except for the tea of cos) into the bird's nest (dunno whether i heard wrongly anot...). Tasted a bit of the bird's nest and felt tat it was already very sweet so i din put the honey in. Also gave the egg a miss as i felt tat it might taste weird. This was definitely value for money if this was indeed real bird's nest cos it's like only ard S$4. In singapore i tink only can get those bird's nest drink ba.

While enjoying the bird's nest, i saw tat they also have this bottled bird's nest. I enquired on it and decided to buy a pack of six for 2nd uncle to sort of thank them for 收留-ing me during the reno. After finishing the bird's nest, it was like mission accomplished already so i hailed a taxi and headed back to the hotel.

So just like tat i'm at the end of day 2 for this trip already. Only 3 战利品 for today but i tink there will be more to come in the next 2 days which i have planned for shopping in platinum mall.
