1 week already!!!

hey wah so fast my 1st week of my new job is over already. haven't been doing much in the office. only troubleshooted 1 laptop tat belongs to our financial controller and reformatted another pc and then reinstalling everything and checking some of the data backups for the servers. then rest of the time is following my shifu ard to either learn things or help pple troubleshoot their pcs or reading all those software or hardware manuals, then sometimes just daydreaming(once in a while only lah). then actually i realise our pcs actually can use the web msn messenger lah. then i saw at least 1 user using it also. so like blocking it also no point.

wah then actually after the 1st day, i haven't been lunching at our own canteen liao. not tat the canteen's food taste so bad but just tat there's no variety at all so very boring. then i've been joining some of the guys from the finance dept for lunch (dunno if i can say it's the finance dept of the company tat i'm in also cos the company's structure like really quite confusing). we will walk to a nearby hawker centre which takes ard 10 min. quite far but then at least more varieties. then on thursday, the sales manager drove us out to jurong west there for lunch. actually i was advised before to not go too far for lunch yet. i tink it's perhaps cos going so far usually means not being able to be back in time. so being still under probation, maybe i shldn't be trying anything funny yet. and then toking abt lunchtime, actually i was briefed on the 1st day tat our lunchtime is only 1/2 hour. ermmm like quite ridiculous lah. then after tat i was told tat the trend is tat everyone in the company will usually take 1 hour for it. so actually 1/2 hr is like just on paper only lah. haha then this is like totally opposite of the case with my temp job. cos on paper the lunchtime for my temp job was actually 45 min but then there's just so much work and also due the fact tat pple usually come with their questions and other stuff during lunchtime tat lunchtime was usually ard only 15 min. haizzz sad man.... i'm just glad tat those times are over already.

then after working in the it dept of a company for 1 week, i feel tat being in the it dept, actually can say tat we are like cut off from the rest of the company becos especially for the case for a company dealing in businesses tat is not really it-related. cos wat we do doesn't actually deal with the company's business processes directly. maybe it's becos i'm just still doing the basics only so i dun really noe wat's going on. then also maybe becos of the place tat i'm sitting at, which is like quite secluded. i feel tat maybe tat place was initially meant to be a pantry instead. then another thing is for my company the it dept only consists of 3 pple, the it manager, an it administrator and me, the it assistant. and then all guys also, but this like the norm, so nvm. but actually, potentially, we shld be able to get to know almost everyone in the company with a pc. which is like almost 99% of them. maybe only the security guards, the cleaners and then canteen pple would not have pcs. in fact, we shld be among the 1st few pple in the company to come into contact with a new staff becos we would be configuring the pc for him/her. so, can say tat it's actually quite an interesting dept to be in. hope tat i can enjoy my work in this dept and in this company.
