back from the arms of the angels
wow!!! finally back to the comfort of home! finally can sleep on my comfortable bed. really damn tired after 4 days straight of non-stop shopping and eating in the city of angels, bangkok. it's the 2nd time tat i've been there and i tink it was more enjoyable this time round. perhaps it's becos this time round i went with frens and have more freedom compared to going with my family. and also the stuff we shop for are also more similar so i managed to buy more stuff, although still not as much as i had intended to.
i really was looking forward to this trip as it would be 1st time tat i will be going overseas with my frens (tat is excluding JB of course) and also a chance to try the thai massage which i did not get to try the last time round.
for the 1st night there, it was really quite late after we had checked into the hotel and settled down, so it was just some shopping and a simple dinner in one of the roadside food centre. the food centre was quite small with only 5 stalls. after looking ard and seeing tat almost everyone was eating this "hor fun"-like stuff, we decided to give it a try too. it simply fabu-licious!! the gravy was thick and nice, the main ingredient which actually looks more like kway chap was alrite too. but the best part was the roast pork which is actually "shao rou" and it was crispy and fragrant(ermmm hope i used the right word). and together with the fruit juice tat we ordered, it cost us only ard 1 singapore dollar.
the next 2 days were whole days of shopping at the usual places tat pple go to like chatuchak, pratunum, suan lom, patpong, mbk, etc, etc... but in between all the shopping and eating, i saw some familiar faces and familiar sights in a not so familiar environment.
really was quite surprised to see peng siong and his gf in one of the bts stations and he told us he was staying in the same hotel and just 1 floor below us. and at suan lom, we saw some students from jurongville sec sch shopping there in their school uniforms. at first i tot it was just some uniform tat looked like it. it was only upon a closer look tat i realised tat it was indeed jurongville students. perhaps drained of energy by all the bargaining, converting of currencies, walking and lack of sleep, i was momentarily disoriented and was tinking if i was back in singapore already. i looked ard at all the thai words ard me and concluded tat i was indeed still in thailand...
after all the shopping, finally all tat was left to do in thailand was to go for the massage. the feeling when ur tired out legs get massaged is just indescribable. really really shiok! but some parts really ticklish then i would just burst out laughing uncontrollably. but i tink my right calf maybe spoil liao cos the person keep pressing then dunno y still very stiff and pain.
haizzzz but all good things come to an end and here i am back in front of the pc in my room in my house in singapore. it would really be better if i can stay for another 1 or 2 days to really complete my shopping and perhaps visit some places of interest. ok now, time for me to start some SERIOUS job-hunting...
